St James is one of five Parish churches serving the market town of Chorley in Lancashire. We are a dynamic conservative evangelical congregation that is fully committed to teaching and learning from God's Word. Our objective is "To win people for Christ and to build them up in Christ."

The teaching at St James is Bible based and Bible led, because it is our committed belief that the Bible is God's book, written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, so that what the Bible says, God says.

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York are inviting churches to pray for the evangelisation of the nation during the week before Pentecost Sunday (15th May) using the words of the Lord’s Prayer, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done”.  As part of this initiative there will be a prayer morning on Saturday 7thMay from 9am to 12.30pm in church. Please feel free to stay for as long as you are able.  Ideas of things to pray for will be available.  Children are welcome and there will be activities for them.

Sunday services are held at 8.45am, 10.30am and most weeks at 6pm. Visitors are always very welcome. We also have a variety of midweek activities.

Please follow the various links to find out more about the Church and where we are located (including the parish boundary).
